Jeff Travers joined Fight For Children as Director, External Relations, in September 2007. He brings over 15 years of communications and fundraising experience to Fight For Children and oversees the organization’s marketing, communications, development, and grantmaking programs. Most recently, Mr. Travers was a principal at High Noon Communications, a firm he co-founded in 1999, which provides strategic communications services to local and national not-for-profit organizations. At High Noon Communications, he developed and executed marketing campaigns, wrote communications audits and plans, and produced numerous public relations events. Prior to founding High Noon, Mr. Travers was the associate executive director and director of development at Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, DC. He was responsible for raising $12 million per year to support the Clinic’s HIV/AIDS programs for residents of the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. For twelve years, Mr. Travers is President of the board of directors of the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative, an organization that works to promote quality arts and humanities education for all DC public and chartered public schools. He has also volunteered with and is the past chair of the board of directors of Adoptions Together, a local child placement agency that also offers lifetime support to families touched by adoption and foster care. He is Mr. Travers has lived and worked in Washington, DC, since his graduation from Georgetown University in 1990. He has two children attending DC Public Schools.
