Anthony A. Williams is Director of State and Municipal Practice for Washington-based law firm Arent Fox. Mayor Williams provides strategic consultation with regards to state and local development issues, particularly those related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. In January 2010, Mayor Williams joined the Corporate Executive Board’s government practice division. Mayor Williams served as mayor of the District of Columbia from 1999 to 2007. During his two terms, he stabilized the city’s finances, as well as effectively managed resources to improve services, lower taxes, improve the performance of city agencies, and invest in infrastructure and human services.

Mr. Williams graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale College, earned a juris doctorate from Harvard Law and a master's degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He serves on the boards of a number of organizations focused on the challenges facing urban education and the environment.
