Katherine Brittain Bradley is the president of CityBridge Foundation. A nonprofit enterprise located in Washington, DC. Mrs. Bradley co-founded CityBridge in 1994 with her husband, entrepreneur and magazine publisher David G. Bradley. CityBridge Foundation marshals intellectual, financial, and social capital to help build a high performing public education system in the District of Columbia. In 2006, CityBridge launched the Early Years Education Initiative, five years of investments focused on improving quality and expanding capacity in early childhood and elementary education across Washington, DC. One year later, CityBridge extended its work into the K-12 space in public schools in the District of Columbia.

In 2010 CityBridge began Breakthrough Schools, a new portfolio of partnerships focused on turnaround strategies and interventions for the city's lower-performing schools. One of the foundation?s core beliefs is that results for children will not last without a conscious effort to build sustained stewardship for public education. As a result, CityBridge has built a separate practice area focused on engaging local stewards?business and public leaders, philanthropists and education activists?in the education sector.

Mrs. Bradley serves as a board member for America's Promise Alliance, the KIPP Foundation, Fight for Children, the University of the District of Columbia, and Princeton University. She also chairs the Washington regional board for Teach for America. In the winter of 2010-2011, Mrs. Bradley co-chaired Mayor Vincent C. Gray's education transition team. She graduated with honors in 1986 from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Katherine and David Bradley have three high school and college-age sons.
